about me

Hi, I'm Gina! In my free time, I love learning and trying new things. I get pulled into rabbit holes easily, but I like to call them side quests. One question usually leads to another, and before I know it, I’m learning something I never planned on picking up.

My friends will sometimes ask me, “What can’t you do?” And honestly, there’s a lot I can’t do, but I’m always open to learning. I’m a little hard-headed in the sense that if I put my mind to something, I’m going to keep going until I figure it out, or at least know I gave it my best.

A lot of what you’ll find on this website are things I taught myself out of curiosity, boredom, necessity, or because it made more sense to make it myself. That’s kind of how all my learning goes. One idea turns into another, and I end up somewhere new with a different perspective on something I thought I already understood.

I didn’t realize I approached most things this way until recently. At work, I’m usually the person quietly wondering how something could be better, then reaching back into everything I’ve learned to find a way forward. Curiosity is how I understand the world, connect ideas, and figure out how things fit together

I like to think of myself as a tree. My roots are made up of the different experiences, skills, and lessons I’ve collected over time. Some roots go deep, while others branch out in unexpected directions, giving me both breadth and depth in the way I learn and solve problems. Together, they give me a strong foundation to face new challenges, adapt, and keep growing.

the "why" behind the site

the "why" behind the site

I made this site as a digital commonplace to keep track of everything I am learning along the way. To be honest, I have spent a lot of time struggling with imposter syndrome and feeling like my work was never quite good enough to show anyone. This space is my way of pushing past that fear.

It is a place where I can share the actual journey instead of just a polished final product. I am learning to be okay with the imperfect parts and the messy middle steps because that is where the real learning happens. This is just a record of me trying things, figuring them out, and being proud of the process also, along the way just sharing things I enjoyed.

This is pretty much a collection of ideas I am into. Struggle is just an important part of learning and something to embrace!

my toxic trait is believing i can probably make anything myself… but honestly, struggling through it usually just makes me respect the people who do it even more.
